Wish We Had
Been Wrong – Our rumours about the resignation of a senior executive last
weekend proved true and CEO Malcolm McCullough has left the building. The
general consensus amongst traders is that his “can-do” retail attitude showed great
promise and he has left us too early. His Retail Plan (see separate article)
may become an outstanding legacy.
Interim CEO - we understand that Paul Guerra has been appointed Executive Chair of QVM with CEO responsibilities while the search for a new CEO is conducted.

Stripper
Poles Revealed (see Heard Under The Sheds – 1/7/2017) – We wanted Tony to be a
little more evocative in our photo but he points out that the stripper poles
were purchased for sound merchandising reasons as an excellent way to display
his large format prints. We believe you Tony.
Adjusting
to Change – Cashier functions at the office have come to an end but that didn’t
stop one of our silver haired traders (no more clues) from asking if she could
have a receipt when she went to present her cheque at F1. She was told no
receipt would be issued on the spot so she said “In that case you won’t get my
money”. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out.
What Is A
Bird Stick? – trader Lana is bothered by pooping birds on her stall in J Shed
and when you are selling fabric that can be a huge problem. Unfortunately our maintenance
staff haven’t seen fit to correct the problem yet (notified many weeks ago). In
the meantime Lana bangs a steel pole against the metal pillars to frighten off
the birds and protect her valuable fabric although it does startle customers as
well. All jokes aside, the damage to stock, and the pooping on customers (it
has happened) needs attention.
