A Grand Night For Traders of The Queen Vic Market

Tonights inaugural trader awards night was all about traders.
There was no mention of renewal, no propaganda, no politics, it was just about traders and the contribution they make to a great market. And that is why it was successful.

Actually, there were other reasons as well – the night was organised in-house by management staff who knew their stuff. 3AW radio personality and QVM Board member David Mann was the perfect MC and his intimate knowledge of the market showed.

There was good attendance from food, hospitality and specialty merchandise traders, Board members including Chairman Paul Guerra, senior staff including the leadership team and of course the partners of attendees. And full credit must go to an audience who warmly embraced the occasion, listened carefully, and applauded loudly.

There were a number of special awards made for outstanding customer
service, and outstanding overall performance. But the night probably belonged to the 6 long term traders who received special recognition and were inducted into the Inaugural Queen Victoria Market Hall of Fame. No doubt there will be a detailed summary of the awards and the recipients in due course.

This was an entertaining night and the overwhelming view of traders was that it was a great initiative. A number expressed the view that Malcolm McCullough should be commended for bringing the whole thing together.

We have assembled a few photos of the night, and welcome your comments.
