Apple Tops Sales Per Square Foot Again –  Apple stores show their profitability by once again exceeding other retailers for sales per square foot of display space. In the latest survey they came in at $5546 per square foot with Tiffany & Co achieving $2951 per square foot, and apparel retailer, Lululemon, $1560 per square foot.

Chinese Buying Preferences – a recent study has listed the most popular Australian purchases for customers from China. Australian dairy products were seen as world-class by 58% of Chinese online shoppers.
A fifth or more believe the same for health supplements and pharmaceutical products (39%), baby products (31%), skincare products (25%), fresh seafood and meat (24%), fresh fruit and vegetables (20%) and wine (20%).
Cosmetic and skincare products were purchased by 31%, followed by healthcare and pharmaceutical products (25%).

Another Apparel Brand Bites The Dust In Australia –  Gap is the latest fashion victim in Australian retailing. Oroton, who are franchise holders in Australia have announced that all Gap clothing stores will close while they refocus on their handbag and accessory business. There are four Gap stores in NSW - in the Macquarie Centre in North Ryde and in Westfield shopping centres in Miranda, Parramatta and in Sydney's CBD  - and two in Victoria, at the Melbourne Central and Chadstone shopping centres.
