The group that has campaigned against
market renewal plans has come up with its own version of what is best for QVM.
The proposal to build a multi-level car park over the current car park has been
raised before but this time some professionalism has been added with the
assistance of architect John McNabb and concept drawings that give us an idea
of how things might look.
The proposal is apparently designed as
an alternative to CoM plans to transfer the current car park to the basement of
the Munro Building and put facilities underground at A,B,C, and D Sheds.
Proponents of the alternative, led by Phil Cleary, claim that their proposition
will remove the need for destructive excavation.
Consideration of the proposal and
whether it will meet the needs of our market will be the subject of public
meetings and further discussion.
