Tasmania is surrounded by sea,
has a thriving fishing industry and many Fish’n’Chips shops but the award for
the best fish’n’chips went to a humble food van located at Doo Town, south of
Hobart.
The biannual Tasmanian Seafood
Awards recognise the contribution made by various members of the industry and
the competition for best fish’n’chips was very strong with Doo-lishus coming up
trumps. And for the connoisseurs amongst
our readers, the seafood is not battered, it is crumbed, and the menu includes
crayfish.
We just love these stories of the small operators coming out on top.
