Thank you to those traders who contributed to our suggestion
that we review the General Merchandise name and perhaps look for something more
descriptive for today’s consumers.
We would like to keep the ball rolling on this issue and it
may help to put some of the terms into normal sentences and see how it sounds.
Here is a common phrase found on internet sites like Trip Advisor -
“We visited the General Merchandise section.”
What if we changed that to -
“We visited the Merchandise Bazaar.”
“We visited the Top End Traders.”
“We visited the Living Essentials section.”
"We visited the............................................?"
Please keep your ideas coming in. And to the trader who said leave "General Merchandise" alone - we heard you, but let's see what comes out of this process before we consider a vote.
