How Many Artisans Do We Have At QVM?

This article has been re-posted - we would like your input.

A comment on String Bean Alley (http://www.victraders.com/2013/02/string-bean-alley-adjusting-mix.html ) has raised an interesting point. How many traders in the top end qualify as artisans?

So what is an artisan? Wikipedia gives the following definition – “An artisan or artizan (from French: artisan, Italian: artigiano) or craftsman (craftsperson)[1] is a skilled manual worker who makes items that may be functional or strictly decorative, including furniture, sculpture, clothing, jewellery, household items and tools or even machines such as the handmade devices of a watchmaker. An artisan is therefore a person engaged in or occupied by the practice of a craft, who may through experience and talent reach the expressive levels of an artist using his hands, mind and heart in his work and what he creates.”
Merriam-Webster extend the definition to include wine and cheese makers who produce in limited quantities.

So our caricaturists and artists would qualify (5 of them I think), Suzie in E shed who makes her own inspirational gift items, our two photographers Tony and Andrew, Leora with her Polymer Clay Creations, Pete & Antoinette from Classico Shoes.

Please help out by using the “Have Your Say” option at the bottom of this post to add to the list and let’s cast a wide net by including traders with part-artisan ranges. And don’t be shy – if you have artisan products in your range, don’t wait for somebody else to tell us. Click now.
Information like this is important to understanding the complex nature of General Merchandise.
