The long term strategy meeting on Thursday night considered
many issues raised by traders, but setting priorities will be a very important
first goal. We are in danger of missing the wood for the trees.
Whilst each and every issue raised by traders deserves
examination there are some that are at the root cause of our pain and
dissatisfaction. At Thursday night’s strategy meeting mention was made of the
general cleanliness of the market and, yes, dust and dirt is an issue in the
sheds. However, if it comes to choice of spending time and money on special
shed cleaning or a new promotion program to get more customers past our stalls,
we know what most traders would want.
Let’s not lose sight of the over-riding key issue for
traders – business viability.
